Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan, R.O.C. May 7th, 2004 - Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd. ("Sunplus" or "the company") (TAIEX: 2401, LSE: SUPD) today announced that monthly sales for April 2004 were NT$ 1,466 million reaching a new historical record high. Going forward to 2nd quarter as high season, the sales should grow continuously due to seasonality.

Meanwhile, Sunplus also announced transfer of personnel due to business expanding. The former VP of System Application Unit, Mr. Ho-Jung Ou, is promoted to Senior VP of President Office and will be in charge of business in China. Mr. Steven Huang is promoted to vice president will led the System Application Unit and the former sales director, Mr. Gwo-Chin Su, is also promoted to vice president of Sales & Marketing Unit.
