Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan, R.O.C. June 7th, 2004 - Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd. ("Sunplus" or "the company") (TAIEX: 2401, LSE: SUPD) today announced that monthly sales for May 2004 were NT$ 1,658 million reaching a new historical record high. The net sales for May 2004 grew 13.08% comparing with last month and 103.41% with May 2003. The revenue from January to May 2004 totaled NT$ 6,760 million and grew 99.21% comparing with same period last year. Going forward to high season, the sales should grow continuously due to seasonality.

The company also clarified no impact on Sunplus from DVD manufactories in Mainland China going bankrupt, which was covered by recent journalism. Payment collection is mostly via distributors and both Sunplus and distributors are cautious to credit control so the risk of collapse is minimum. The shipment and company operation in Sunplus is smooth and normal; there is no influence on Sunplus.
