Environmental Protection
In order to protect the environment, Sunplus has established the relevant regulations and allocated dedicated employees of execution. We actively choose those suppliers with environmental responsibility and use green products, meanwhile, we supply our customers with hazardous substances free (HSF) and satisfying products to reduce the impact on the environment.
Conflict-Free Sourcing
Sunplus has used the reasonable effort to require our suppliers comply with DRC Conflict-Free requirements since 2013 and will commit not to source tantalum (Ta), tin (Sn), tungsten (W), gold (Au), Cobalt (Co) and Mica from that directly or indirectly benefit armed groups that are perpetrators of serious human rights abuse in the DRC and other countries’ conflict areas. And also cooperate with customer demands, request our suppliers to undertake reasonable due diligence with the supply chain to assure the minerals used in parts supplied to Sunplus are not sourced from mines in conflict areas.

Green Products
To reduce the impact on environment, Sunplus uses green products and has established Hazardous Substances Free (HSF) Policy to provide customers with lead-free and satisfied ICs.

Hazardous Substances Free (HSF) Policy
In order to protect environment in compliance with the regulations under EU RoHS2.0, REACH and SONY SS00259, Sunplus requests suppliers to conform Sunplus Hazardous Substances Free (HSF) Policy that materials, components as well as product handling from suppliers have to meet the requirements of customers and international laws and regulations under latest EU RoHS/REACH directives. Meanwhile, Sunplus continues updating its Hazardous Substances Free (HSF) Policy and requesting all suppliers to meet the requirements.

Sunplus establishes "Environmental Sustainability Policy" and "Hazardous Substances Free (HSF) Policy" according to international environmental requirements, and has been certified under ISO-14001, IECQQC080000 and the Sony Green Partner Program.
Energy Saver
Sunplus continues to remind our employees to be aware of protecting environment that we have been reducing and recycling waste and resources, saving energy and water, and doing all we can to reduce pollution and protect environment.Sunplus is an IC design industry. More than 99.9% of greenhouse gas emissions are indirect emissions. The sources of emissions are mainly water and electricity required by air conditioners and office lighting. The factory management system has been used to make air conditioning equipment operate more efficiently. At the same time, to promote energy-saving concepts and actions to colleagues, with an annual reduction of more than 2% as a goal to reduce unnecessary waste.
In 2023, Sunplus will invest approximately NT$3.742 million to replace the traditional T8 lighting fixtures in the factory with energy-saving LED fixtures. Through monitoring and energy-saving measures, Sunplus’s greenhouse gas emissions in 2023 will be 3,385 tons of CO2e, a decrease of 249 tons of CO2e compared with 2022, a decrease of 6.85%.
In addition, our company has made additional investments in green energy and will start paying for green electricity supply in 2024, reflecting our commitment to corporate responsibility in contributing to a sustainable environment.
