Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan, February 10th, 2010 - Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd. (TAIEX: 2401, LSE: SUPD) announced the appointment of Dr. Siu-Leong Yu as the Vice President of Product Design Unit of Sunplus Home Entertainment Business Unit. Dr, Siu-Leong Yu will lead the IC design team and report to CEO Mr. Chou-Chye Huang directly.

Dr. Yu has more than 18 years of experience in engineering and management in the semiconductor industry. Prior to joining Sunplus, Dr. Yu has start-up experience and he has had worked at ESS technology, Divio, DIVX, Rockwell Science Center and Panasonic Advanced TV-Video Lab. Dr. Yu has published or contributed to more than 20 papers and 20 U.S. patents which include one essential MPEG-2 patent.

Dr. Yu received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University in 1983, Master of Science degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth in 1985, and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, University of Pennsylvania in 1990.
