Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A., Jan. 4, 2008 - Sunplus mMedia Inc., a multimedia IC design company of Sunplus Group, today announced to demonstrate the cost-effective Digital Photo Frame (DPF) SoC solution SPMP2800 series with outstanding decoding capability and excellent image quality at 2008 International CES.

 

The SPMP2800 series integrates a hardware JPEG codec engine to support photo decompression in real-time and image recompression for photo storage at smaller size. Moreover, the SoC has a DSC-grade image enhancement engine to re-produce digital photos with better color representation and sharper details. To meet the higher requirement from the market, SPMP2800 chip set also supports WiFi connectivity so that consumers can enjoy sharing photos more conveniently.

 

In addition, the SPMP2800 also has built-in timing controller to support both analog and digital LCD panel with size from 5-inch to 10-inch, and integrates a rich set of peripherals, including RTC, power on controller, PWM, LCD power controller, USB interface, and NAND Flash and Card interfaces, to further cut down the BOM cost compared with peer solutions.
